The first section of my bike tour takes me from Athens in Greece, to Nordkapp in Norway. I’ll be more or less following Eurovelo Route 11, also known as the Beast from the East!
Cycling from Athens to Nordkapp
After leaving Athens, I’ll be heading north mainly along the Eurovelo Route 11. There are some deviations, as due to reasons too long to explain, I will cycle through Bulgaria and Romania, rather than North Macedonia and Serbia, before joining the Eurovelo route somewhere in Hungary.
Here’s a brief look at the route. I cut off Nordkapp itself accidentally, but you get the idea!
I’m using Komoot to navigate with, and I’m planning stages about a week or two in advance. When I’ve completed a day, I add it to my Komoot collection complete with GPX tracks, images and notes. You can see that here: Komoot Cycling Everywhere.
